Callum Thompson, Managing Director of Business Energy Claims, was invited to appear on GB News segment ‘On the Money’, presented by Liam Halligan. Callum was joined by Justin Urquhart Stewart, Chairman & Co-founder of Regionally, to discuss the rise of energy prices, due in part to the growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine, and what customers can do to lower their bills.
Callum explained that the rise in price caps are likely to continue, citing the enormous pressure on suppliers, rising inflation rates and the current dependence on Russia as causes.
Callum informed the panel and the nationwide audience that there are currently no energy price caps in place for businesses, and that costs are being passed through to businesses at a much higher rate than households. Callum stated that sadly, many businesses will risk going into administration, and urged the Government to step up and provide assistance.
When asked what businesses can do to alleviate some of the pressures placed on them, Callum encouraged them to “buy sensibly, try not to panic, and ensure that they’re buying for the right term”.
