A Third Party Intermediary, otherwise known as a TPI, is another term for an energy broker or energy consultant. TPIs act as intermediaries between businesses and energy suppliers, helping arrange contracts, but not always in your best interest.

Getting started is easy. Here’s how it works:

• Share your energy contract details
• Sign a Letter of Authority (LOA) so we can speak with your broker and supplier
• We investigate the contract and calculate your potential claim
• You decide whether to proceed

If you go ahead, we’ll manage the process for you, from start to finish,with minimal input needed from your side.

We operate on a no-win, no-fee basis. If your claim is successful, our pre-agreed fee is simply deducted from the compensation you receive. All costs are clearly explained upfront, with no hidden charges.

It’s common to have a long-standing relationship with your broker. However, mis-selling often occurs where trust has been established. In many cases, we uncover hidden commissions even when the broker appeared helpful and transparent.

In most cases, your energy contract remains unaffected. However, possible outcomes include:

• The broker removing their commission, which could lower your rates
• The broker offering to cancel or renegotiate the deal

We’ll always get your permission before any changes are made.

Correct. Not all brokers engage in mis-selling. There are many ethical and transparent brokers in the industry. However, based on our experience, the majority of claims involve at least some form of mis-selling or undisclosed commission.

Some brokers do offer genuine services to help clients save money. However, if you’re not aware of how much you’re being charged, you can’t make an informed decision—even if services are included. Transparency is key.

Unfortunately, suppliers often won’t disclose broker commissions. Many suppliers have agreements that require them to leave commission-related questions to the broker. In our view, this lack of transparency is part of the problem.

You can, but there’s no guarantee the information will be complete or accurate. We’ve seen many cases where brokers provide incomplete or misleading information. Our investigation ensures that everything is verified independently so you can make informed choices.

It’s unlikely. Most claims are resolved without legal proceedings. In the rare case your claim does go to court, your solicitor will support you every step of the way.
