Business Energy Claims wins claim for PT Fitness against energy broker

We have successfully recovered significant fees for Chester-based PT Fitness Ltd after it was found that their energy contracts had been mis-sold.

A review into the fitness company’s contracts revealed their energy costs had been inflated to allow hidden commission to be collected by the energy broker without the company’s consent.

The claim was against the broker in respect of contracts procured with Scottish Power for their electricity and Crown Gas & Power for their gas.

Paul Taylor, director at PT Fitness Ltd., said: “I wasn’t sure who to contact when I found out we were in a three-year contract for our gas supply that was proving expensive.

“Business Energy Claims helped us re-claim the hidden broker costs and the best thing was the process was easy – they took care of everything. Highly recommended.”

Business Energy Claims is the first organisation in the UK aiming to tackle energy broker mis-selling and the team’s research suggests that mis-selling by energy brokers is costing UK businesses billions of pounds.

Callum Thompson, director at Business Energy Claims, said: “We are delighted to have been able to recover fees for PT Fitness. Hidden commissions and energy mis-selling is a growing issue in the industry and we are here to ensure businesses are able to recover monies owed.

“Not only that, our team is also working together with organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau and Ofgem to try to address the issue at its core and legitimise the energy market again after years of mis-selling.”

If you have used an energy broker in the last six years to secure your business energy contract, you could be owed thousands.
