A West Midlands-based Care Home has received thousands from energy broker, Business Save (a subsidiary of Bionic), as a result of a successful court judgement.
The residential home engaged with the UK’s leading organisation in tackling energy broker mis-selling, Business Energy Claims, to establish whether they had been mis-sold to and were able to claim back money owed, providing vital funds to care for some of the area’s most vulnerable.
Business Save, which has now been taken over by one of the largest brokers in the market, Bionic, failed to disclose the commission they had earned within the contracts that they had arranged with Scottish Power.
Research from Business Energy Claims suggests that around three quarters of care homes have been mis-sold to in some way.
Care homes often spend considerable sums on their gas and electricity contracts and are therefore heavily targeted by energy brokers who are able to benefit from higher commissions as a result of their high consumption.
